PPCDC

Description

The PPCDC (phosphopantothenoylcysteine decarboxylase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

PPCDC catalyzes the removal of a carbon dioxide molecule (decarboxylation) from the cysteine part of 4-phosphopantothenoylcysteine. This process generates 4'-phosphopantotheine, which is a crucial component in the creation of coenzyme A.

PPCDC is also known as MDS018, PPC-DC, coaC.
