POU2F2

Description

The POU2F2 (POU class 2 homeobox 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

POU2F2 is a transcription factor that binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3'). It regulates IL6 expression in B cells with POU2AF1 and activates immunoglobulin gene expression. It also modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR, and PGR.

POU2F2 binds specifically to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3') and regulates transcription in various tissues, including activation of immunoglobulin gene expression. It interacts with POU2AF1, enhancing its transactivation activity, and regulates IL6 expression in B cells. POU2F2 also modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR, and PGR.

POU2F2 is also known as OCT2, OTF2, Oct-2.
