PLXND1
Description
The PLXND1 (plexin D1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.
Plexin-D1 is a protein encoded by the PLXND1 gene in humans.
Plexin-D1 is a cell surface receptor for SEMA4A and class 3 semaphorins, including SEMA3A, SEMA3C, and SEMA3E. It plays a key role in cell-cell signaling and regulates the migration of various cell types. Specifically, it controls thymocyte migration in the medulla and endothelial cell migration. Plexin-D1 is essential for ensuring the specificity of synapse formation and is required for normal heart and vasculature development. It mediates anti-angiogenic signaling in response to SEMA3E.
PLXND1 is also known as CHTD9, PLEXD1.
