PKIA
Description
The PKIA (cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor alpha) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.
cAMP-dependent protein kinase inhibitor alpha is a protein encoded by the PKIA gene in humans. It belongs to the cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) inhibitor family and interacts with both C alpha and C beta catalytic subunits of PKA, inhibiting their activities. Alternative splicing of the PKIA gene can produce different transcript variants, but they all encode the same protein.
PKIA is also known as PRKACN1.
