PHYHD1

Description

The PHYHD1 (phytanoyl-CoA dioxygenase domain containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

PHYHD1 is a 2-oxoglutarate (2OG)-dependent dioxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of 2-oxoglutarate to succinate and CO2 in an iron-dependent manner. However, PHYHD1 does not couple 2OG turnover to the hydroxylation of acyl-coenzyme A derivatives, implying it is not directly involved in phytanoyl coenzyme-A metabolism. Furthermore, PHYHD1 does not show detectable activity towards fatty acid CoA thioesters.

PHYHD1 is also known as -.
