PHACTR3

Description

The PHACTR3 (phosphatase and actin regulator 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

PHACTR3 (Phosphatase and actin regulator 3) is an enzyme encoded by the PHACTR3 gene in humans. This protein is associated with the nuclear scaffold in proliferating cells. It binds to the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) and inhibits PP1 activity, suggesting a role as a regulatory subunit of PP1. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms are produced through alternative splicing.

PHACTR3 is also known as C20orf101, H17739, PPP1R123, SCAPIN1, SCAPININ.
