PFDN6
Description
The PFDN6 (prefoldin subunit 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.
Prefoldin subunit 6 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PFDN6 gene.
Prefoldin subunit 6 specifically binds to cytosolic chaperonin (c-CPN) and delivers target proteins to it. It also interacts with nascent polypeptide chains and facilitates their proper folding in a cellular environment where numerous pathways compete for misfolded proteins.
PFDN6 is also known as H2-KE2, HKE2, KE-2, PFD6.
