PELI2

Description

The PELI2 (pellino E3 ubiquitin protein ligase family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

Protein pellino homolog 2 is a protein encoded by the PELI2 gene in humans.

PELI2 acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, attaching ubiquitin moieties to target proteins. It participates in TLR and IL-1 signaling pathways by interacting with a complex containing IRAK kinases and TRAF6. PELI2 specifically mediates IL1B-induced IRAK1 'Lys-63'-linked polyubiquitination, possibly including 'Lys-48'-linked ubiquitination. It is potentially critical for LPS and IL1B-induced NF-kappa-B activation dependent on MAP3K7 but not MAP3K3. PELI2 can activate the MAP kinase pathway, leading to the activation of ELK1.

PELI2 is also known as -.
