PEG3

Description

The PEG3 (paternally expressed 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

PEG3, or Paternally-expressed gene 3 protein, is encoded by the PEG3 gene in humans. It is an imprinted gene exclusively expressed from the paternal allele and plays crucial roles in controlling fetal growth rates and nurturing behaviors. PEG3 is a transcription factor that binds DNA through the motif AGTnnCnnnTGGCT, employing multiple Kruppel-like factors. It also regulates the expression of Pgm2l1 by binding to this motif. PEG3 has been shown to interact with SIAH2 and SIAH1.

PEG3 is also known as PW1, ZKSCAN22, ZNF904, ZSCAN24.
