PDLIM1

Description

The PDLIM1 (PDZ and LIM domain 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

PDLIM1, encoded by the PDLIM1 gene, is a protein involved in cell structure and function. It interacts with several other proteins, including Actinin alpha 4, Actinin alpha 1, Estrogen receptor alpha, and RNF12.

PDLIM1 acts as an adapter protein, bringing other proteins, such as kinases, to the cytoskeleton. It is involved in the assembly, disassembly, and direction of stress fibers in fibroblasts. It is essential for the localization of ACTN1 and PALLD to stress fibers and is crucial for cell migration and maintaining cell polarity in fibroblasts.

PDLIM1 is also known as CLIM1, CLP-36, CLP36, HEL-S-112, hCLIM1.
