PARP4

Description

The PARP4 (poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase family member 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 13.

PARP4 is an enzyme encoded by the PARP4 gene in humans. It catalyzes a poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation reaction, similar to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase but lacks a DNA binding domain. This means PARP4 can't bind DNA directly, and its transferase activity is likely regulated by protein-protein interactions. PARP4 is known to interact with Major vault protein.

PARP4 is a mono-ADP-ribosyltransferase that modifies target proteins by attaching a single ADP-ribose molecule.

PARP4 is also known as ADPRTL1, ARTD4, PARP-4, PARPL, PH5P, VAULT3, VPARP, VWA5C, p193.
