PAQR3

Description

The PAQR3 (progestin and adipoQ receptor family member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

PAQR3, or Raf Kinase Trapping to Golgi apparatus (RKTG), is a protein encoded by the PAQR3 gene in humans. It belongs to the progestin and adipoQ receptor (PAQR) family. PAQR3 is predicted to have seven transmembrane helices and is localized to the Golgi Apparatus. It acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and migration through the suppression of Raf kinase and AKT pathway. Additionally, PAQR3 modulates cholesterol homeostasis by anchoring the SCAP/SREBP complex to the Golgi under cholesterol depletion conditions.

PAQR3 is also known as RKTG.
