P2RX5

Description

The P2RX5 (purinergic receptor P2X 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

P2X purinoceptor 5 is a protein in humans encoded by the P2RX5 gene. It belongs to the purinoceptor family for ATP and functions as a ligand-gated ion channel. Its primary structure contains motifs characteristic of ATP-gated channels, but unlike other members of the purinoceptor family, it has only a single transmembrane domain. Four transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.

P2RX5 is an ATP receptor that functions as a ligand-gated ion channel.

P2RX5 is also known as LRH-1, P2X5, P2X5R.
