OSGEPL1

Description

The OSGEPL1 (O-sialoglycoprotein endopeptidase like 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

OSGEPL1 is essential for the formation of a threonylcarbamoyl group on adenosine at position 37 (t(6)A37) within mitochondrial tRNAs that recognize codons starting with adenine. It likely participates in transferring the threonylcarbamoyl moiety from threonylcarbamoyl-AMP (TC-AMP) to the N6 group of A37. OSGEPL1 plays a role in preserving the integrity of the mitochondrial genome.

OSGEPL1 is also known as OSGEPL, Qri7.
