OSBPL10

Description

The OSBPL10 (oxysterol binding protein like 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

OSBPL10 is a probable lipid transporter involved in the countertransport of lipids between the endoplasmic reticulum and the plasma membrane. It binds to phosphatidylserine and is thought to exchange this lipid with phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P), delivering phosphatidylserine to the plasma membrane in exchange for PI4P. OSBPL10 plays a role in negatively regulating lipid biosynthesis and APOB secretion from hepatocytes. It binds to cholesterol, acidic phospholipids, and 25-hydroxycholesterol. OSBPL10 interacts with OSBPL9 and DIAPH1.

OSBPL10 is also known as ORP10, OSBP9.
