OR6B3

Description

The OR6B3 (olfactory receptor family 6 subfamily B member 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

The OR6B3 gene encodes a protein called Olfactory receptor 6B3. This protein is involved in our sense of smell. It interacts with odor molecules in the nose, triggering a response that leads to the perception of a smell. Olfactory receptors belong to a large family of G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which are involved in many cellular processes. The OR6B3 gene is one of many genes that encode olfactory receptors, making up the largest gene family in the human genome.

Odorant receptor.

OR6B3 is also known as OR6B3P, OR6B3Q.
