OCSTAMP

Description

The OCSTAMP (osteoclast stimulatory transmembrane protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

OCSTAMP, a probable cell surface receptor, is crucial for cellular fusion and differentiation. It collaborates with DCSTAMP to regulate cell-cell fusion in both osteoclasts and foreign body giant cells (FBGCs). This protein is involved in osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, promotes osteoclast differentiation, and potentially contributes to the formation of multinucleated osteoclasts.

OCSTAMP is also known as C20orf123, OC-STAMP, dJ257E24.3.
