NUGGC

Description

The NUGGC (nuclear GTPase, germinal center associated) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

NUGGC, a nuclear GTPase, is found in germinal center B-cells. It is believed to inhibit the activity of AICDA, a key enzyme involved in somatic hypermutation, a process that introduces genetic diversity into antibodies. This inhibition of AICDA by NUGGC may lead to a decrease in somatic hypermutation, potentially contributing to genomic stability.

NUGGC is also known as C8orf80, HMFN0672, SLIP-GC, SLIPGC.
