NUDT13
Description
The NUDT13 (nudix hydrolase 13) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.
NUDT13 is an enzyme that breaks down NADH and NADPH, two essential molecules involved in cellular energy production. Specifically, it hydrolyzes NADH into NMNH and AMP, and NADPH into NMNH and 2',5'-ADP. NUDT13 demonstrates a strong preference for the reduced forms of these molecules. Notably, NUDT13 does not interact with NAD-capped RNAs, which are unique structures found at the 5'-end of certain RNA molecules.
