NUDT10

Description

The NUDT10 (nudix hydrolase 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome X.

NUDT10, also known as Diadenosine hexaphosphate hydrolase (AMP-forming) (EC 3.6.1.60, hAps1, NUDT11, hAps2), is an enzyme that catalyzes the following reactions: (1) P1,P6-bis(5'-adenosyl)hexaphosphate + H2O ⇌ adenosine 5'-pentaphosphate + AMP (2) P1,P5-bis(5'-adenosyl)pentaphosphate + H2O ⇌ adenosine 5'-tetraphosphate + AMP This enzyme requires a divalent cation for activity.

NUDT10 cleaves a beta-phosphate from the diphosphate groups in PP-InsP5 (diphosphoinositol pentakisphosphate), suggesting it may play a role in signal transduction. It also catalyzes the hydrolysis of dinucleoside oligophosphates, favoring Ap6A and Ap5A as substrates. This results in ADP and p4a from Ap6A and ADP and ATP from Ap5A. Additionally, NUDT10 can hydrolyze 5-phosphoribose 1-diphosphate.

NUDT10 is also known as APS2, DIPP3-alpha, DIPP3a.
