NOSIP

Description

The NOSIP (nitric oxide synthase interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

Nitric oxide synthase-interacting protein is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NOSIP gene.

NOSIP is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase essential for proper development of the forebrain, eye, and face. It monoubiquitinates the catalytic subunit of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), PPP2CA/PPP2CB. NOSIP negatively regulates nitric oxide production by promoting NOS1 and NOS3 translocation to the actin cytoskeleton and inhibiting their enzymatic activity.

NOSIP is also known as CGI-25.
