NOL8

Description

The NOL8 (nucleolar protein 8) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

Nucleolar protein 8 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NOL8 gene. NOL8 has been shown to interact with RRAGA and NIP7.

NOL8 plays a crucial role in the survival of diffuse-type gastric cancer cells. It acts as a nucleolar anchoring protein for DDX47 and may be involved in regulating gene expression at the post-transcriptional level or in ribosome biogenesis within cancer cells.

NOL8 is also known as C9orf34, NOP132, bA62C3.3, bA62C3.4.
