NFIC

Description

The NFIC (nuclear factor I C) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

NFIC refers to the human gene Nuclear factor 1 C-type, a transcription factor involved in regulating gene expression.

NFIC binds to a specific DNA sequence, 5'-TTGGCNNNNNGCCAA-3', which is found in both viral and cellular promoters, as well as in the origin of replication of adenovirus type 2. This binding plays a role in activating transcription and replication.

NFIC is also known as CTF, CTF5, NF-I, NFI.
