NEURL3

Description

The NEURL3 (neuralized E3 ubiquitin protein ligase 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

NEURL3 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase involved in various biological processes, including lung development and innate immunity. It utilizes UBE2E1 and promotes antiviral responses by ubiquitinating IRF7, leading to its activation. Additionally, NEURL3 directly binds to the hepatitis C virus E1 protein, disrupting its interaction with E2 and inhibiting viral assembly.

NEURL3 is also known as LINCR, RNF132.
