NELFCD

Description

The NELFCD (negative elongation factor complex member C/D) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

NELFCD is a crucial component of the NELF complex, a protein group that plays a vital role in regulating the elongation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. The NELF complex works in conjunction with another complex called DSIF to cause pauses in transcription. These pauses are overcome by the P-TEFb kinase complex, which counteracts the NELF complex.

NELFCD is also known as HSPC130, NELF-C, NELF-D, TH1, TH1L.
