NEK11

Description

The NEK11 (NIMA related kinase 11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

NEK11 is a protein kinase that plays a critical role in the G2/M checkpoint response to DNA damage. It controls the degradation of CDC25A by directly phosphorylating it on specific residues. This phosphorylation is essential for BTRC-mediated polyubiquitination and subsequent degradation of CDC25A.
