NDC1
Description
The NDC1 (NDC1 transmembrane nucleoporin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.
Nucleoporin NDC1 is a protein encoded by the TMEM48 gene in humans. It anchors aladin to the nuclear pore complex.
NDC1 is a component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC) and plays a key role in the assembly and insertion of the NPC into the nuclear envelope. It likely anchors the NPC to the nuclear envelope membrane by linking it to soluble nucleoporins.
NDC1 is also known as NET3, TMEM48.
