NCKAP1

Description

The NCKAP1 (NCK associated protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

Nck-associated protein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NCKAP1 gene.

== Interactions == NCKAP1 has been shown to interact with RAC1 and ABI1.

NCKAP1 is a component of the WAVE complex, which plays a crucial role in regulating lamellipodia formation. This complex controls actin filament reorganization by interacting with the Arp2/3 complex. The activity of actin remodeling is regulated by RAC1. As part of the WAVE1 complex, NCKAP1 is essential for the endocytic trafficking and signaling of BDNF-NTRK2 from early endosomes.

NCKAP1 is also known as HEM2, NAP1, NAP125, p125Nap1.
