NBPF15

Description

The NBPF15 (NBPF member 15) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

NBPF15, also known as Neuroblastoma breakpoint family, member 15, is a protein encoded by the NBPF15 gene. The gene is located on chromosome 1q21.1 and is 18762 bp long, with a 3837 bp mRNA transcript. NBPF15 is predicted to be located in the nucleus and cytoplasm. It contains the NBPF repeat, a two-exon sequence characteristic of the 21 members of the NBPF gene family. This repeat is thought to be ancestral and the NBPF family has been linked to primate evolution. The function of NBPF15 is not fully understood, but it is a member of the NBPF family, which has been linked to potential roles in oncogenesis and tumor suppressor genes.

NBPF15 is also known as AB14, AG3, NBPF16.
