NBPF1

Description

The NBPF1 (NBPF member 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

NBPF1 is a protein encoded by the gene NBPF1 in humans. It belongs to the neuroblastoma breakpoint family of proteins, which are thought to be involved in the development of the nervous system. The NBPF1 gene is located on chromosome 1, specifically at position 1p36.3. It spans 51179 base pairs, including both exons and introns. NBPF1 is one of 26 known members of the Neuroblastoma Breakpoint Family genes and pseudogenes. The NBPF2 pseudogene and NBPF3 gene, which are closely related to NBPF1, reside on chromosome 1 at position 1p36.12. Most members of the NBPF gene family are located on chromosome 1 at positions 1q21.1-1q23.3. These genes share a greater sequence similarity to each other than they do to NBPF1. The NBPF1 transcript is a 6183 base pair mRNA composed of 28 exons. Although more than 14 alternative splicing forms of NBPF1 have been predicted, only seven have been observed. Out of all the possible transcripts, only two are known to code for proteins. One of these transcripts is 1139 amino acids long with 23 coding exons, while the other is 1095 amino acids long with 23 coding exons.

NBPF1 is a protein belonging to the neuroblastoma breakpoint family, which is believed to play a role in nervous system development. It is found on chromosome 1 in humans, specifically at location 1p36.3, and spans 51179 base pairs including exons and introns.

NBPF1 is also known as AB13, AB14, AB23, AD2, NBG, NBPF.
