NACC2

Description

The NACC2 (NACC family member 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

NACC2 acts as a transcriptional repressor by forming a complex with NuRD. This complex is then brought to the promoter region of MDM2, causing suppression of MDM2 transcription. Consequently, this leads to increased stability of p53, a crucial tumor suppressor protein.

NACC2 is also known as BEND9, BTBD14, BTBD14A, BTBD31, NAC-2, RBB.
