NACC1

Description

The NACC1 (nucleus accumbens associated 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

NACC1 is a gene that encodes for the Nucleus accumbens-associated protein 1, a protein found in humans. You can find more information about this gene on the UCSC Genome Browser.

NACC1 acts as a transcriptional repressor, potentially functioning as a corepressor in neuronal cells by recruiting HDAC3 and HDAC4. It contributes to tumor progression, cell proliferation, and survival, possibly by repressing the transcriptional activity of GADD45GIP1. NACC1 is essential for moving the proteasome from the nucleus to the cytoplasm and dendritic spines.

NACC1 is also known as BEND8, BTBD14B, BTBD30, NAC-1, NAC1, NECFM.
