MYZAP

Description

The MYZAP (myocardial zonula adherens protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

MYZAP is involved in cellular signaling through Rho-related GTP-binding proteins, leading to the activation of the transcription factor SRF. It also directs TJP1 to cell junctions. In cortical neurons, MYZAP may participate in glutaminergic signal transduction by interacting with the NMDA receptor subunit GRIN1.

MYZAP is also known as CMD2K, GCOM1, Gup, MYOZAP.
