MYPOP

Description

The MYPOP (Myb related transcription factor, partner of profilin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

MYPOP is a transcriptional repressor that binds DNA, specifically recognizing the sequence 5'-YAAC[GT]G-3'. Its DNA-binding ability is decreased when it forms a dimer with PFN1.

MYPOP is also known as P42pop.
