MVB12A

Description

The MVB12A (multivesicular body subunit 12A) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

MVB12A is a component of the ESCRT-I complex, which plays a crucial role in regulating vesicular trafficking. It is essential for sorting ubiquitinated cargo from endocytosis into multivesicular bodies (MVBs). MVB12A may also participate in the internalization and subsequent downregulation of the EGF receptor through ligand-mediated processes.

MVB12A is also known as CFBP, FAM125A.
