MTERF4

Description

The MTERF4 (mitochondrial transcription termination factor 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

MTERF4 plays a crucial role in mitochondrial ribosome biogenesis and protein synthesis. It binds to specific mitochondrial ribosomal RNAs, including 16S, 12S, and 7S, and facilitates the recruitment of NSUN4 RNA methyltransferase to the large ribosomal subunit (39S).

MTERF4 is also known as MTERFD2.
