MTCL1

Description

The MTCL1 (microtubule crosslinking factor 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.

MTCL1 is a microtubule-associated factor crucial for the late stages of epithelial polarization and microtubule dynamics regulation. It contributes to the formation and maintenance of non-centrosomal microtubule bundles at the lateral membrane in polarized epithelial cells. Additionally, MTCL1 is essential for accurate chromosome segregation during mitosis.

MTCL1 is also known as CCDC165, KIAA0802, SOGA2.
