MT4

Description

The MT4 (metallothionein 4) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

MetaTrader 4, also known as MT4, is a widely used electronic trading platform for online retail foreign exchange speculative traders. It was developed by MetaQuotes Software and released in 2005. The software is licensed to foreign exchange brokers, who provide it to their clients. MT4 consists of both a client and server component, with the server component run by the broker and the client software provided to customers. Users can view live streaming prices and charts, place orders, and manage their accounts. The client is a Microsoft Windows-based application popular for its ability to support user-written trading scripts and robots for automated trading. A successor, MetaTrader 5, was released in 2010, but MT4 remains the most widely used platform. While no official Mac OS version exists, some brokers offer custom MT4 variants for the platform. Metatrader is also available on mobile platforms such as Android, iOS and Windows mobile. MetaQuotes Software released a number of versions of the MetaTrader platform starting in 2002. MetaTrader 4 was a significantly enhanced version released in 2005.

MT4 is also known as MT-4, MT-IV, MTIV.
