MS4A7

Description

The MS4A7 (membrane spanning 4-domains A7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

MS4A7, or Membrane-spanning 4-domains subfamily A member 7, is a protein encoded by the MS4A7 gene in humans. It belongs to the membrane-spanning 4A gene family, which shares structural features, similar intron/exon splice boundaries, and unique expression patterns in hematopoietic cells and nonlymphoid tissues. MS4A7 is associated with mature cellular function in the monocytic lineage and could be a component of a receptor complex involved in signal transduction. The gene is located on chromosome 11, within a cluster of other family members. At least four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been observed.

May participate in signal transduction as part of a multimeric receptor complex.

MS4A7 is also known as 4SPAN2, CD20L4, CFFM4, MS4A8.
