MRRF

Description

The MRRF (mitochondrial ribosome recycling factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

MRRF is responsible for the breakdown of ribosomes from messenger RNA at the end of mitochondrial protein synthesis. It works together with GFM2 to promote the recycling of mitochondrial ribosomes by breaking apart the connections between the ribosome's subunits.

MRRF is also known as MRFF, MTRRF, RRF.
