MRGPRD

Description

The MRGPRD (MAS related GPR family member D) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

MRGPRD is a protein encoded by the MRGPRD gene in humans. It is a member of the Mas-related G-protein coupled receptor family.

MRGPRD, also known as the beta-alanine receptor, plays a crucial role in regulating nociceptor function and development, influencing the sensation and modulation of pain. It serves as a specific membrane receptor for beta-alanine, triggering calcium influx into cells at micromolar concentrations. Moreover, beta-alanine inhibits cAMP production in cells expressing MRGPRD, suggesting its coupling with G proteins G(q) and G(i).

MRGPRD is also known as MRGD, TGR7.
