MPHOSPH6

Description

The MPHOSPH6 (M-phase phosphoprotein 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

M-phase phosphoprotein 6 (MPHOSPH6) is an enzyme encoded by the MPHOSPH6 gene in humans. It is involved in the 3'-processing of the 7S pre-RNA to the mature 5.8S rRNA and plays a role in recruiting the RNA exosome complex to pre-rRNA. This function may include C1D. It associates with the RNA exosome complex, likely mediated by EXOSC10. It interacts with ARHGAP18, EXOSC10 and MTREX.

MPHOSPH6 is an RNA-binding protein that associates with the RNA exosome complex. It is involved in the 3'-processing of the 7S pre-RNA to the mature 5.8S rRNA and plays a role in recruiting the RNA exosome complex to pre-rRNA, potentially including C1D.

MPHOSPH6 is also known as MPP, MPP-6, MPP6.
