MOB3B

Description

The MOB3B (MOB kinase activator 3B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

MOB3B plays a key role in regulating organ growth and preventing cancer. It does this by controlling the activity of the LATS1 protein, a critical component of the Hippo signaling pathway. This pathway acts as a brake on cell growth, ensuring that organs stay the right size. When MOB3B is active, it helps LATS1 to suppress cell division and encourage cell death (apoptosis), effectively preventing tumors from developing.

MOB3B is also known as C9orf35, MOB1D, MOBKL2B.
