MMRN2

Description

The MMRN2 (multimerin 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

MMRN2, also known as Multimerin-2, acts as a negative regulator of blood vessel formation (angiogenesis) by inhibiting the movement of endothelial cells. It does this by binding to the protein VEGFA, preventing it from activating the KDR receptor, which is involved in promoting angiogenesis.

MMRN2 is also known as EMILIN-3, EMILIN3, ENDOGLYX-1.
