MLXIP

Description

The MLXIP (MLX interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

MLXIP binds to DNA as a heterodimer with MLX, activating transcription. It specifically recognizes the E box sequence 5'-CACGTG-3' and plays a key role in the transcriptional regulation of genes involved in glycolysis. This protein is crucial for glucose-responsive gene regulation.

MLXIP is also known as MIR, MONDOA, bHLHe36.
