METTL2A

Description

The METTL2A (methyltransferase 2A, tRNA N3-cytidine) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

METTL2A is an S-adenosyl-L-methionine-dependent methyltransferase that catalyzes the N(3)-methylcytidine modification of residue 32 in the tRNA anticodon loop of tRNA(Thr)(UGU) and tRNA(Arg)(CCU). This methylation process is dependent on the prior N6-threonylcarbamoylation of tRNA (t6A37) by the EKC/KEOPS complex.

METTL2A is also known as METTL2.
