Description

The MEIS3 (Meis homeobox 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

MEIS3 is a transcription factor that directly controls the expression of PDPK1, a protein crucial for the survival of pancreatic beta cells. It also regulates the expression of other genes including NDFIP1, BNIP3, and CCNG1.

MEIS3 is also known as MRG2.
