MCMBP

Description

The MCMBP (minichromosome maintenance complex binding protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.

MCMBP is a protein that regulates DNA replication by promoting the disassembly of the MCM complex from chromatin during late S phase. This disassembly is crucial for the unloading of the pre-replication complex (pre-RC) from replicated DNA. MCMBP can dissociate the MCM complex without the need for ATP, suggesting that it destabilizes the interactions between individual subunits of the complex. Additionally, MCMBP is essential for maintaining sister chromatid cohesion.

MCMBP is also known as C10orf119, MCM-BP.
