MBNL1-AS1

Description

The MBNL1-AS1 (MBNL1 antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 3.

MBNL1-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in the brain. It is thought to play a role in the regulation of gene expression, potentially by interacting with the splicing factor MBNL1. MBNL1-AS1 has also been implicated in the pathogenesis of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1). Studies suggest that MBNL1-AS1 may modulate MBNL1 activity and regulate other genes, but its exact function in DM1 is still being investigated.

MBNL1-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that has been implicated in the regulation of gene expression. It is highly expressed in the brain and has been shown to interact with the splicing factor MBNL1. MBNL1-AS1 may play a role in the pathogenesis of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1), a neuromuscular disorder caused by an expansion of a CTG repeat in the DMPK gene. The function of MBNL1-AS1 in DM1 is complex and may involve both modulation of MBNL1 activity and regulation of other genes.
