MAU2

Description

The MAU2 (MAU2 sister chromatid cohesion factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 19.

MAU2 is crucial for the loading of the cohesin complex onto DNA. It forms a heterodimer with NIPBL/SCC2, collectively known as the cohesin loading complex, which facilitates this process. MAU2 contributes to sister chromatid cohesion and ensures proper progression through prometaphase.

MAU2 is also known as KIAA0892, MAU2L, SCC4, mau-2.
